The boys had their last concert this past Tuesday, Jared plays the baritone (looks like a small tuba-first one in the first row) and Kyle plays trombone. (Kyle is second from the left in the back row sitting)

Graduation is just a few days away and have been busy doing last minute things! (OK, picking up things I forgot!) ;-)

Jared's last day of school was Wednesday.

His girlfriend decided to 'dress him up' I guess, complete with eyeliner! (Rock star look I guess!)

The weather has been nicer, we did get another 1" of rain over two days. But it is still chilly at night.

I put the three bantie chicks with the 10bigger chicks and ended up taking them out. They'd ignore them for awhile, then pick on the banties. So back to jail for the banties! Sometimes in a 'bug frenzy' the bigger chicks would just literally run over the little ones! Shockingly, I don't have any pictures of them! (yet!)

I let Walter the rabbit run about the yard today. He (she??) is a fat toad and had a grand time. Patrick cleaned his cage--long overdo!

Hopefully Dolly is indeed bred. I will draw blood and see when the time is right. ;-)

OK off to double check my "to do" list and check in with Pat's mom to see what treasures she picked up today for the graduation party! :)

May already

Between storms and work and kids activities and working on the garden and fencing and just everyday life (whew!) I've been lagging on my posts here!

I do not have the garden totally in, but it is doing well so far. Dolly has not come back into heat (was supposed to today) so that is good news. In fact, Giz (the bull) decided to tear up three trees in the pasture and short out the electric fence and escaped into the larger part of the pasture this morning. The grass was calling I guess-ha!

It's hard to believe Jared leaves in about three weeks. I'll sure miss him. Got the graduation announcements out and get-together invites as well. He went fishing the other day, he bought a new fly fishing rod so had to 'test' it out I guess.
Kyle has been busy with golf and work and youth group. He's been practising more driving my truck (stick shift), I think he'd do OK alone unless he was stopped on a hill.

Jared and I got hay the other day, I haven't backed a trailer for a long time. I do best backing if I don't over-analyse it and just DO it. ;-) (I had to back a tractor and a trailer alot at the hog farm, so I'm just out of practise!) I did fine backing picking up the hay, but had to back up and squeeeeeze it in between two trees here at home. (Patrick makes it look soooo easy!) I got it done and I don't think Jared laughed once, but he sure grinned alot. Its not parked perfect but it will do.

Patrick planted sweet corn in the garden (after tilling it for me). He has been busy working on the flatbed trailer and helping B&K with things, too. Lots of little things to deal with when you get a different place!
